The Music of
Alphonse Hasselmans
Join Jacqueline for a concert of the music of Alphonse Hasselmans (1845-1912). Born in Belgium, Hasselmans spent his life in France, teaching at the Paris Conservatoire, performing, and composing beautiful character sketches for solo harp.

The Music of Sergiu Natra
Sergiu Natra (b. 1924) is a contemporary composer who has a special affinity for the harp and has written extensively for the instrument in solo and chamber settings. His music is dramatic, featuring strong rhythmic motifs and a wide variety of colors and articulations. Join Jacqueline for a concert of his music.

NOVEMBER 20 at Noon
The Transcriptions of Marcel Grandjany
Join Jacqueline for a concert featuring the transcriptions of Marcel Grandjany (1891-1975). Grandjany composed for the harp, but also transcribed many works for the instrument, both famous works and pieces by little-known composers, to help expand the repertoire.

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was a master composer whose music is performed by musicians everywhere. The beauty, depth, and complexity of his music makes it a joy to listen to and to play. Join Jacqueline for a concert Bach's works!

Concert: Themes and Variations
A theme and variations is a classic form, and one that highlights the many moods and capabilities of the harp. Join Jacqueline for a concert featuring themes and variations by four different composers.

FEBRUARY 20 at Noon
Workshop: Glissandos and Harmonics on the Harp
Jacqueline presents an online workshop on playing glissandos and harmonics, two highly specific harp effects. Students of any level playing either a lever or a pedal harp are welcome to join Jacqueline via Zoom to build and refine these skills
​
Throughout the 90 minute class, Jacqueline will present each skill at its most basic level and then demonstrate increasingly difficult exercises. Registrants will receive a PDF set of exercises, and can either refer to this, or simply follow Jacqueline's demonstrations and explanations. All students can identify the level appropriate for them and focus in on this level.
​
Students will set up at their harps at home to play along throughout the workshop. The camera will remain focused on Jacqueline, with breaks for questions. When asking a question, students have the option to turn their camera on. However, students who are feeling a bit tentative can keep their camera off the entire time.
MARCH 19 at Noon
Concert: Jazz Favorites
Join Jacqueline for a concert of jazz favorites on the harp, including some of her own arrangements. These beautiful and lush works showcase the harp in a different light from the classical world.

Masterclass: Inspirational Pieces
Jacqueline presents an online masterclass for students, based around her popular YouTube Series: Inspirational Videos for Young Harpists. In this series, Jacqueline plays beginning and intermediate repertoire as a model for students.
​
Participants at any level, playing either a lever or a pedal harp, are welcome and are encouraged to select repertoire from Jacqueline's Inspirational Videos series. During each participant's twenty minute time slot, they will perform their solo piece, and then receive feedback and work with Jacqueline in a traditional masterclass style.
​
Observers are also welcome to attend and watch the entire masterclass, which will last around 90 minutes.

Award Winning Compositions
The Northern California Harpists' Association Award was a mid-twentieth century composition competition that aimed "to enlarge the harp literature" and was chaired by harpist Yvonne LaMothe Schwager. Several outstanding pieces came from this competition, and in this concert Jacqueline will present a diverse selection of the prize winners.

Workshop: Building Technical Skills
Jacqueline presents an online workshop on building technical skills on the harp.
